Hacked Off prepare for “generational opportunity” in the fight for press accountability, with new website & brand refresh

Hacked Off, the campaign for a free and accountable press, has today launched a new website and refresh of its branding. This comes ahead of a critical period in the fight for the rights of ordinary people affected by press intrusion and abuse.

The project was made possible with the support of the Waterloo Foundation.

HackedOff Chairman Hugh Tomlinson KC said,

Britain faces a generational opportunity to address falling standards and trust in the press.  Over the last 80 years there have been seven inquiries into press standards; each finding that ordinary people are suffering from appalling abuses at the hands of some national newspapers.  Yet to date, no Government of any stripe has found the courage to act.
As we enter a critical period dealing with a new Government and a very different Parliament, it’s the right time for a refresh of our brand and a brighter, more accessible website.
I want to thank all our supporters for their continued support and, in particular, the wonderful generosity of the Waterloo Foundation whose support has made this project possible.
